The Speaker Series is open to the public by subscribing to the Series. The lectures are held on seven different evenings, from September through April.

Please note that the St. Louis Speakers Series is only sold by subscription to the entire series - single tickets to individual lectures will not be sold.

Courageous Humanitarian of Hotel Rwanda

Former Senate Majority Leader, Ambassador and Good Friday Peace Accord Negotiator

As Senate Majority Leader, he was 6 times voted "the most respected Senator". He was asked by the British and Irish governments to chair the Northern Ireland peace negotiations. His work resulted in the Good Friday Peace Accords, which ended decades of conflict. Baseball Commissioner Selig asked him to investigate steroid use which led to the Mitchell Report.

This political analyst, commentator, author and NYT columnist, brings audiences face-to-face with the spirit of our times, and does it with humor, insight and passion. He is a keen observer of our American way of life, as well as a savvy analyst of present day politics and foreign affairs. He can be seen regularly on News Hour with Jim Lehrer and NPR's All Things Considered.

For nearly 50 years, Dr. Goodall has been studying and protecting wildlife the world over, with a special emphasis on chimpanzees and other primates. She has become a world renowned conservationist and founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, designed to advance the power of individuals to improve the environment for all living things.

Renowned Historian and Pulitzer Prize Winning Author
April 23, 2009 - Thursday, 8pm

Two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award for his biographies, Truman and John Adams, he has been called "a National Treasure". His most recent book, 1776, received rave reviews. A gifted and hugely popular speaker, he has narrated several PBS documentaries, including the Civil War, Napoleon and the motion picture Seabiscuit.
